Yoga Philosophy

Whether you are new to Yoga, a Student thinking about becoming a Teacher or a Teacher seeking additional training, the program I offer adheres to these simple principles: follow your heart, listen to and honor your body. 

Gentle Therapeutics Yoga is based on my own 33 years of experience,traveling world-wide, searching for self-healing techniques and inner wisdom. I wanted to create a safe, warm environment for Students and to be able to share what I have learned — these gifts that I have received over many years of travel and introspection.

I have found that the use of Yoga Props is an extremely useful and fundamental means for sharing wisdom from my heart. Props (such as blankets, blocks and chairs) encourage Students and Teachers alike to become more creative and sensitive to the needs of the practitioner. Pranayama (breathing) techniques also help in the process of healing and relaxation.

In my life’s journey, I have found that spiritual growth takes place in the space of meditation, which I have followed at my own comfortable pace. We focus on meditation because it is a powerful healing tool. I encourage Students Teachers to maintain this part of the practice.
